MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas chaired a session of the national committee for organizing the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 on 13 February, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.
Progress in preparing a catering facility to provide meals to participants of the 2nd European Games in the Athlete Village was reviewed. Reports were presented on fulfilling the organizing committee’s instructions on implementing the ticket program, making and selling souvenirs. Efforts to set up temporary infrastructure at venues of the 2nd European Games, including in the international broadcasting center, were discussed. The organization of the work of the border service and the customs service during the games was discussed. Participants of the session also heard out a report from the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) on raising money from foreign sponsors.
The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 199 medal events in 15 sports. Competitions in eight sports will be qualifiers for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
