MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – No liquors will be available in fan zones during the 2nd European Games in Minsk. Fans will be able to buy only beer, Belarus’ Interior Minister Igor Shunevich told journalists on 4 June, BelTA has learned.
“Only beer will be available in fan zones. No liquors will be sold. It is a common practice and it makes sense,” he added.
Igor Shunevich noted that Belarusian law enforcement is ready for an inflow of fans in the run-up to the European Games. “No matter how many visitors will arrive (the more the better), the police will be up to the task of maintaining security and performing security checks at the entrance. We do not expect any problems here,” he noted.
The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 200 medal events in 15 sports. Around 30,000 fans are expected to visit the event.
