MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – The coaching staffs of the Belarusian national 3x3 basketball teams named athletes who will compete at the 2nd European Games, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Basketball Federation.
The women’s team under the tutelage of Yuri Volk will comprise Anastasiya Sushczyk, Darya Mahalias, Maryna Ivashchnka, and Natallia Dashkevich. In the qualifying round Belarus will play in Group A against Russia, Italy and Serbia. Group B will feature Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Group C will comprise France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Andorra. Group D will include Estonia, Ukraine, Latvia, and Spain.
The men’s team led by Dmitry Koltukov will comprise Mikita Meshcharakou, Andrei Rahozenka, Maksim Lutych, and Siarhei Vabishchevich. Belarus will face Slovenia, Lithuania and Estonia in preliminary Group C. Group A will feature Serbia, Romania, Poland, Andorra. Group B will consist of Russia, Ukraine, France and Italy. Group D will comprise Latvia, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Turkey.
Two best teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The 3x3 basketball competitions are scheduled to take place at Palova Arena near Minsk Sports Palace on 21-24 June.
