MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – Belarus approached the conduct of the 2nd European Games in a very responsible way, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to Belarus Victor Sorocean told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The way the 2nd European Games were organized in Belarus, the attitude of the local authorities were on par with the world’s best practices. This is amazing. Belarus is known for good order in everything. Responsibilities were distributed very well. It was great to see how volunteers worked,” Victor Sorocean said.
Star ambassador of the 2nd European Games, Olympic champion in figure skating Alexei Yagudin called the games a grandiose celebration of sport. “The most important thing for the audience is to see a spectacular fight. The most important thing for athletes is to show their worth no matter where they perform, be it a European championship, a world championship, Olympic Games or European Games,” he emphasized.
“The competitions are very interesting. Everyone liked them. Athletes who had a chance to see Minsk said that it is a beautiful city with amazing people. Those who had to leave right after the competitions were very sorry for missing an opportunity to have a walk around the city. Therefore, we invite everyone to come here again and again,” Belarusian judoka, champion of the 2nd European Games Maryna Slutskaya, said.
