MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – A seminar held for spokespersons of the national Olympic committees and the European sports federations in Minsk on 27 April discussed the organization of the news service of the 2nd European Games, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC).
The first news service of big sport forums was organized at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. This service is important for reporters working at Olympic, Paralympic and European Games, chief specialist for communications, PR and mass media at the MEGOC Elena Smirnova said. Coming to cover sport competitions, journalists assume that they will not be able to attend all the events. In this case the news service, which prepares materials from all the venues, comes in handy. Such a service is hailed by all world media which cover multi-sport events.
The participants of the seminar discussed the operation of the press during the forthcoming forum depending on their accreditation: E (journalists, bloggers), EP (photo correspondents), ENR (workers of radio and TV companies without broadcasting rights).
Themed presentations on different aspects of operation of the accredited press were showcased by workers of the MEGOC communications, PR and mass media department.
Presentations on various areas have also been prepared by representatives of the European Olympic Committees and sport PR agencies. The participants of the seminar attended the international test competitions in artistic gymnastics at Minsk Arena.
