MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – An Italy Day will take place in Minsk during the 2nd European Games, representatives of the Italian embassy in Belarus told BelTA.
An Italian delegation of 179 athletes led by the boxer Clemente Russo will arrive in Minsk for the 2nd European Games. The boxer will bear the flag of the Italian team during the opening ceremony in the Dinamo Stadium on 21 June. “It is a magnificent event and an excellent opportunity to demonstrate sport achievements,” representatives of the embassy noted. “In order to add Italian flavor to the event, the embassy in association with the Italian national tourism agency ENIT will organize an Italy Day in the fan zone on 24 June. Street theater, folklore, culture, music, gastronomy, and lots of merrymaking: the day will become a grand party in the square.”
A photo exhibition to show Italy’s most outstanding and beautiful places will be arranged. A number of giant photos of Italy’s greatest sport events will embellish an expansive entertainment zone dedicated to Italy. Banner bearers from the city of Fivizzano will offer an acrobatic performance to the public.
The street artist, clown, and mime Andrea Fedi will entertain the youngest spectators. Italian music will be played – it will be possible to support Italian athletes and Italy with songs of the music band Lorenzo Tucci Trio and the special guest Carima.
