Year of Native Land in Belarus

MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – The Year of Native Land in Belarus will be marked by iconic events, Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova told the media on 12 March, BelTA has learned.

Natalya Kochanova said that the government is working on a plan of action to celebrate the Year of Native Land. “We are planning landmark events,” she said. According to her, the large-scale campaign will spill into 2019 because it is impossible to hold numerous events in one calendar year.

The Year of Native Land implies not only, for example, construction of infrastructure facilities in the regions. Greater emphasis should be placed on the ideological aspect. Natalya Kochanova underlined that the love to native places is in the heart of every person and it is impossible to reflect it in one action plan.

Natalya Kochanova recalled that the head of state drew attention to this as well. The president urged everybody to think what they can do for their hometowns not only financially but also in terms of art, education and so on.
