MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with young artistes in the Belarusian State Youth Theater on 20 March and talked about beautification plans for the Year of Native Land, BelTA has learned.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, serious efforts will be put into beautification in Belarus in the Year of Native Land, including the beautification of road shoulders. Flowerbeds and ornamental bushes will be planted on them. Apart from that, there are plans to erect ornamental fences along the main thoroughfares in Minsk to act as dividing fences. In addition to making the city more beautiful such fences will prevent pedestrians from jaywalking wherever they want.
Talking to young Belarusians, Alexander Lukashenko noted that he welcomes the work of graffiti artists, whose pictures embellish some buildings in Minsk. “It is art,” said the head of state. He went on saying that the buildings look much better thanks to the graffiti works.
