MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – Latvia is interested in the simplification of the visa regime between Belarus and the European Union, State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Latvia Andrejs Pildegovics told a press conference dedicated to the Latvian presidency of the Council of the European Union on 23 January, BelTA has learned.
“Latvia will do its utmost to make the negotiations between Belarus and the EU as efficient as possible and to generate concrete results. We are interested in it,” Andrejs Pildegovics said.
The state secretary also noted that Latvia would like the highest-level officials to represent Belarus at the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga. “We see that Belarus is open for the dialogue with Europe. We will do our best to promote this dialogue,” he added.
