MINSK, 10 January (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich has attended a solemn ceremony of inauguration of Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anatoly Glaz told BelTA.
Nicolas Maduro assumed the office of the Venezuelan president for the third time. He won the presidential election on 28 July 2024. As many as 51.95% of the voters voted for him.
Presidents, ministers, parliamentary delegations, and representatives of over 30 foreign states attended the ceremony.
The Venezuelan president thanked heads of the delegations for their solidarity with the Venezuelan people and made a speech.
While in Venezuela the Belarusian delegation is expected to have a series of meetings with representatives of Venezuela’s leadership, ministries and government agencies in order to discuss topical matters of mutual interest concerning political, trade, economic cooperation.
