MOSCOW, 13 February (BelTA) – Igor Petrishenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia, met with Igor Barinov, Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, in Moscow on 13 February to discuss measures for cooperation with ethnic and cultural public associations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
The parties exchanged opinions on the current state and prospects for the development of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the field of ethnic relations. Igor Petrishenko and Igor Barinov emphasized the effectiveness of the measures taken in Belarus and Russia to maintain and foster interethnic and interreligious accord.
“The parties agreed on a number of practical measures to further strengthen the bilateral relations, including the cooperation with ethnic and cultural public associations,” the press service said.
