MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Valentin Rybakov is leading a Belarusian delegation at the High-Level Segment of the 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event is taking place in Doha, Qatar on 12-19 April. Valentin Rybakov has already met with Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Affairs of the State of Qatar Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani to discuss the ways of developing the Belarusian-Qatari cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
Valentin Rybakov also held a meeting with Qatari Minister’s Assistant for Foreign Affairs Mohammed Bin Abdullah Bin Mutib Al Rumaihi to talk over further expansion of bilateral cooperation. On the same day the head of the Belarusian delegation spoke at the plenary session of the Congress’ High-Level Segment. Valentin Rybakov stressed in his speech the basic importance of sustainable development to prevent crime and joint efforts to fight against the organized and transnational crime, trafficking in drugs, people and human organs.
The Congress’ member states adopted the Doha Declaration on 12 April. The document confirms the need for extensive international cooperation against trafficking in people and human organs.
