MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Pakistan have agreed to sign an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in manufacturing, science, and technology, BelTA learned from representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in Pakistan after Ambassador Andrei Yermolovich met with Pakistani Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi.
The sides discussed the state and prospects of advancing cooperation in manufacturing between Belarus and Pakistan. The sides reached an agreement that experts will look into concrete bilateral cooperation projects in the city of Grodno. A Pakistani delegation will be in the city on 16-17 November to participate in the second session of the Belarusian-Pakistani working group on manufacturing cooperation. The Belarusian-Pakistani intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in manufacturing, science, and technology will be signed then. The sides have been working on the draft agreement for over two years. The document is supposed to greatly facilitate bilateral procedures for setting up joint ventures in the area of manufacturing cooperation.
The sides stressed it is necessary to more actively exchange information about the infrastructure projects in progress in the two countries, about government programs and tenders, in which representatives of Belarus and Pakistan can participate. The participation of the Belarusian side in projects to build the Pakistani-Chinese economic corridor was mentioned.
The Belarusian ambassador noted the importance of reliable partners in providing mutual assistance with the promotion of industrial goods in Belarus and Pakistan.
