MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – Olympic champion Vladislav Goncharov will try out his new trampoline program at the FIG World Cup 2017 in Minsk. The athlete told the news at a press conference at the Sports and Tourism Ministry on 15 August, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian athlete will take part in the FIG World Cup 2017 – Senior Trampoline in Minsk on 18-19 August and also at a big sport forum entitled Slavic Games, which kick off on 16 August. “I am going to test a new combination at the Minsk Palace of Sports. I plan to perform it at the world championships,” Vladislav Goncharov said.
The FIG World Cup 2017 in Minsk will feature 78 athletes from 16 countries. Competing at the Minsk Palace of Sports will be the best athletes of Japan, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Italy, the United States and Canada. China will not take part in the tournament. According to Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Alexander Baraulya, taking part in the competitions apart from Vladislav Goncharov will be young athletes who are considered for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
