MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Masterpieces from the holdings of Moscow's Tretyakov Gallery will be on display at the National Art Museum of Belarus from 5 September till 11 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian museum.
It will be the third time that the National Art Museum has hosted an exhibition comprising paintings from the State Tretyakov Gallery. This time, the exhibition will showcase 79 works by famous artists including Alexei Savrasov, Igor Grabar, Ilya Repin, Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Korovin. It will feature A Birch Grove by the famous Russian landscape painter Arkhip Kuindzhi, among other masterpieces.
Paintings by renowned Russian artists will be accompanied by works of Belarusian natives such as Stanislav Zhukovsky, one of the major Russian impressionists, and Ferdynand Ruszczyc, a student of Ivan Shishkin and Arkhip Kuindzhi.
