MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) - Over 200 artworks are on display at the exhibition entitled Korea’s Life, which opened at the National Art Museum in Minsk on 14 October, BelTA informs.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Belarus Yang Joong-mo said at the presentation of the exposition that the event would provide Belarusians with an opporuntity to get familiar with Korean traditions and art. I believe that such a specialized Korean exhibition displayed at the National Art Museum of Belarus is a momentous event. There is a permanent Korean exposition in this museum where visitors can feel the character of the Korean culture. Over the two years of diplomatic mission in Belarus I have opened a lot of events related to the Korean culture. However, this is our first art event. I am glad to have an opportunity to show Belarusians some items of the Korean traditional art,” noted the diplomat.
According to the Ambassador, this large-scale event was organized in cooperation with the Korean Fund that was founded to present Korea’s culture abroad. The Fund helped bring nearly 200 artworks from the Republic of Korea to be displayed in the museum in a span of two months.
Yang Joong-mo expressed gratitude to the Museum of the Dongguk University for the organization of the exposition.
The exhibition, Korea’s Life, features social, everyday and spiritual aspects of the Korean culture. The expo highlights Korean traditions and the culture of its people’s everyday life. Some of the exhibits date back to the 10th-14th centuries.
The exhibition will stay open through 6 December.
