MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – A new festival called Ballet Summer at Bolshoi will be held at the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus from 29 June to 9 July, First Deputy Director General of the theater Vladimir Rylatko told media, BelTA learned.
The festival will feature popular performances. The forum will open with the national production "Vytaut" by Vyacheslav Kuznetsov. The playbill will also include Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, and Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus. The productions will feature solo ballet pairs from the Mariinsky and Bolshoi theaters (Russia).
The program also includes the evenings of George Balanchine and Jiri Kylian’s choreography, and Georgian ballet involving People's Artist of Russia and Georgia Nina Ananiashvili.
The Ballet Summer at Bolshoi will conclude with a gala concert of international ballet stars from all over the world - Vienna, Warsaw, St Petersburg, Hamburg, etc.
Vladimir Rylatko expressed hope that the new festival will become a regular event.
