MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – The Upper Town of Minsk will play host to 15 festivals of national cultures during the 2018 summer tourist season, first deputy head of the main department for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Minsk City Hall Vitalina Rudikova said at a daily briefing on 14 May, BelTA has learned.
The series of events will kick off with the Vyasnovy Buket fair which will gather more than 300 craftsmen of Belarus on 26 May. A wide variety of the Belarusian national cuisine will be on display.
The festival of Swedish Culture is scheduled for 2 June. Organizers promise a lot of pleasant surprises.
The 2018 summer tourist season will include festivals of cultures of Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Moldova, Israel, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, South Korea, Italy, Armenia, the UK and Estonia.
The summer music and tourist season kicked off in Minsk on 5 May with the traditional project Pedestrian Precinct. The Music Map of Minsk, which unified more than 200 musicians. A new area for children was opened in Karetny Dvorik that host concerts and entertainment programs on Saturdays. The season will also include reenactment events, Minsk Day, dancing master classes, Jazz Nights at the City Hall, Classics at the City Hall, and many more.
The Pedestrian Precinct first appeared in Karl Marks Street in summer 2012. Later, it moved to the Upper Town.
