MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko attended an evening with Viktor Drobysh, Hits and Stars, at Minsk Arena on 24 October and presented the composer with the Order of Francysk Skorina, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

Viktor Drobysh received this high state award of the Republic of Belarus in recognition of his creativity, personal contribution to the development and strengthening of the Belarusian-Russian cultural ties.

The head of state noted he had not attended such informal events for a while. “However, in the position in which I serve my people, every detail is important, including when to come and what concert to attend,” the head of state said. The evening with Viktor Drobysh, according to the President, is exactly the event “where it is necessary to be, together with our Belarusians, favorite artists and the well-beloved composer.”

Viktor Drobysh cherishes his warm childhood memories of the village of Borshchevka, Loyev District, Gomel Oblast, and repeatedly confessed that he owed a great deal to the Belarusian land.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that he values Viktor Drobysh for his creativity and the most for his proudly calling himself a Belarusian in any place and at any situation.

“I would like to say a few words about some creative individuals of ours, even holders of the Nobel Prize who has barely got it leave the country and start throwing mud at their country. It is not right, it is not an opposition. It is absolutely wrong as we do not choose our Motherland, the same as our parents, mother. If you speak ill of your Motherland, is ashamed of it, you are, first of all, a bad son,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to the President, he came to the concert to award Viktor Drobysh with the Order of Francysk Skorina on the proposal of the Culture Ministry of Belarus. “It is an honored award to a true Belarusian who proudly carries this banner in the world, in every place you visit,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “It is a true men’s present to a real man,” the head of state added.
