MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - The 3rd international festival Vladimir Spivakov Invites will be held in the Belarusian cities of Minsk, Gomel, Mogilev and Vitebsk from 18 to 28 February, BelTA learnt from the organizers of the festival.
The festival will open in the Palace of the Republic with a performance by People’s Artist of Russia Dmitry Khvorostovsky who will be accompanied by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia conducted by Vladimir Spivakov.
Dmitry Khvorostovsky is a popular artist who has performed at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the opera house Liceo in Barcelona, the Piotr Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and others. He gave solo concerts in Norway, Turkey, Israel and Australia. The artist also performed main arias from the most popular masterpieces of world opera. The artist made his cinema debut in the movie Don Juan Without a Mask where he played Don Juan and Leporello. The movie based on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera Don Juan won numerous accolades.
On the opening day of the festival Dmitry Khvorostovsky will perform masterpieces by Richard Wagner, Anton Rubinstein and Giuseppe Verdi.
The forum includes other programs such as “The hour of Bach” and “The hour of Chaplin”. Top soloists of ballet theaters from around the world will demonstrate their skills at the gala concert “Stars of the world ballet.”
The closing gala will take place at the Belarusian State Philharmonic and will feature world opera stars, soloists of Russia’s Bolshoi Theater and Mariinsky Theater Anna Aglatova, Vasily Gerello and Oleg Kulko.
The festival Vladimir Spivakov Invites has been held for 10 years in Moscow and France’s Colmar. Belarus is the third country to host this festival.
