MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Germany Weeks will take place in Belarus from 25 September through 24 October. The event will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Germany’s reunification, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Belarus Peter Dettmar on 22 September.
The organization of Germany Weeks in Belarus has already become a good tradition. The event has been organized for over ten years. This year’s event will be particularly large-scale and will last for about one month on the occasion of the anniversary. The event will target all people, who take interest in the German culture, language, and society. Belarusians will be able to learn Germany better through movies and music, theater and literature, a photo exhibition and other events. The Germany Weeks will begin with an exhibition focusing on the country’s way to unity.
Peter Dettmar said that over the years Germany Weeks have become part and parcel of the effort to raise the awareness about the German culture in Belarus. The Weeks are arranged by the German embassy in association with other German institutions and German mediators in the area of culture in Belarus with support of Belarusian partners.
