VITEBSK, 25 April (BelTA) - The first Belarusian museum of chocolate opened in Vitebsk on 24 April. The presentation of the museum took place at the Vitebsk Arts Museum, BelTA has learnt.
“The museum of chocolate has been created in Vitebsk under the slogan “We Do Good Things”. All the items (now we have several dozens of them) have been made by the talented chocolatier Nikolai who served internship at the French Academy of Chocolate and sharpened his skills in Poland. The museum will stay open from 25 April till 18 July. The event will be accompanied by evenings with the chocolate specialist, charity campaigns, and workshops for children and adults. We have prepared many surprises for the residents of Vitebsk, and the best surprise will be presented on 11 July - World Chocolate Day,” director of the museum Lyubov Ivanova said, emphasizing that all the items have been created at the Vitebsk workshop of the chocolatier Nikolai specially for the Belarusian museum of chocolate.
The chocolate specialist noted that his main task is to show different aspects of chocolate and make people enjoy not only its taste but also the way it looks. “The museum items represent different techniques - chocolate molding, casting. Every week the collection of the museum will receive new unique items, including chocolate netting and paintings created on chocolate and by chocolate,” Nikolai said and noted that for the creation of all of his works he used Belarusian alimentary chocolate without any admixture. Because of this, the museum items will be separated from the visitors by special barriers.
There are chocolate museums in many countries of the world. The most famous of them are situated in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, and Russia (Saint Petersburg and Moscow).
