BISHKEK, 1 August (BelTA-Kabar) – Members of the Belarusian armed forces claimed third place at the International Army Games 2017, BelTA learned from the press service of the General Staff of Kyrgyzstan’s Armed Forces.

Kyrgyzstan and Russia shared first place, having picked up 21 medals both. Kazakhstan took second place with 20 medals. Belarus ranked third with 19 medals.

The army games were held at the Edelweiss training center of Kyrgyzstan's General Staff. They involved over 300 members of the armed forces of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. The program of the games included competitions in hand-to-hand combat, kettlebell lifting, shooting, a triathlon and several officers’ competitions, and also a military multisport event.

The International Army Games also featured a large cultural program.
