In January 2013 for the first time in history of the Belarusian Circus ballet dancers took part in the most prestigious Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival. The festival was held under the aegis of Monaco Prince Albert and Princess Stephanie. On 15 February the Belarusian State Circus unveiled a new program titled as “Visiting the Festival in Monte Carlo” that features the world’s best award-winning circus artists.

This is a unique project for Belarus. The main idea is to insert art in the familiar landscape and foster a dialogue between art and citizens. In the course of several months the Zabor project featured reproductions of paintings of modern Belarusian artists on the fence of Chelyuskintsev Park in Minsk. In April Zabor comes to Vitebsk, which is Marc Chagall’s hometown and the venue of the international arts festival Slavonic Bazaar. The art project is dedicated not only to Belarus but to Vitebsk in particular its fascinating history, interesting events and everyday life.

The International Ballet Stars Program will give ballet lovers a unique opportunity to enjoy the best compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries during one evening. The program features famous ballet dancers from the United States, the UK, Germany, Cuba, Portugal and Spain. Soloists from the world’s famous theaters including the New York City Ballet, the Royal Ballet from London, the English National Theater, the Bavarian State Ballet, the Cuban National Ballet, the Portuguese National Ballet and the National Ballet of Madrid will perform in Minsk. The program combines the most difficult parts from the classic repertoire (Don Quixote, Corsair and Swan Lake) with unique modern numbers created by famous choreographers exclusively for the show. Art director of the project is Tobias Ehinger, who is the author of about 20 gala concerts in Europe, the U.S. and Hong Kong.

A festival in Belarus’ oldest town Polotsk will bring together outstanding performers from Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia, France, Israel, Argentina and Cuba. During a month and a half amazing music will be performed in the hall of St. Sophia Cathedral. In April the guests of the festival will be People’s Artist Vladimiras Prudnikovas of Lithuania, famous Estonian conductor Erki Pehk, one of Russia’s best chamber collectives the Mikhail Glinka State String Quartet, unique musician and multi-instrumentalist Yuri Medianik, outstanding Belarusian pianist Yuri Gildyuk, Russian violinist Stepan Yakovich and France’s organist Pierre Zhivo.

He calls her a unique businesswoman who used in her business everything that she could recollect from the past and everything she saw during her lifetime.

One of the greatest dance projects of the present time, the grandiose Celtic show known all over the world, will be presented in Minsk. Its creator is famous choreographer Michael Flatley, who set a Guinness Book tap-dancing world record and has elaborated his own style featuring the elements of the Irish and American step and flamenco. Lord of the Dance is an amazing dance interpretation of one of the most famous Irish legends about the fighting between the powers of darkness and light. It combines traditions, modernity, medieval mystery, magnificent stage scenery and eye-catching special effects.

The Karamazov Brothers production will be presented by famous Boris Eifman’s Ballet Theater on stage of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus. This performance is a new interpretation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s magnum opus. Boris Eifman, who is the author of many stage plays, defines his genre as the psychological ballet. Using the language of dance artists talk with the audience about the most complicated and exciting matters concerning human existence. What is the purpose of life? Is the spiritual more important than the material? How to find the truth?

The April Belarus Fashion Week (BFW) program will be held at the two venues. The first will be the major BFW podium where the individual fashion shows of the Belarusian and foreign designers will take place, while the second one will feature the OFF SCHEDULE program created especially for young designers and aims to present new brands. Apart from fashion shows, the BFW will feature the New Names contest for young designers and a creative competition for bloggers and fashion journalists Fashion Blog Competition. Besides, Fashion Study Center will operate as part of the event.

The forum, which is called the mirror of telecommunications and information technologies market, brings together over 30,000 experts. The 17th international media forum featuring the Belarusian and other countries’ media will be held at the Football Indoor Center, and will be co-located with TIBO 2013. The co-location of the two events that focus on media and informational technologies has become a tradition and attracts even more guests. Participating in the Mass Media in Belarus expo will be newspapers, magazines, radio stations, TV channels, information agencies and news websites. An official awards ceremony of the 9th Golden Letter National Printed Press Competition will be held as part of the event.
