MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – The first crew of Belarus’ tank team under the command of senior warrant officer Sergei Mikhno moved into the first place in the tank biathlon individual race at the training ground Alabino (Russia). Such information has been posted on the website of the Defense Ministry of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“The panel of judges reviewed the results of the first race on 30 July. As a result, the Belarusian crew was named best in its race. Belarus team is third overall with the total time of 22 minutes 22 seconds,” the Defense Ministry reported. The Belarusian troops traditionally showed high class in shooting hitting all targets. In the overall standings Russia and China are ahead of Belarus.
Second and third crews will compete on 1 and 5 August.
The first stage of the tank biathlon, an individual race, is the longest. It is held from 29 July to 6 August. Following the individual races the 12 best placed crews out of 18 advance to the semifinal and 4 best compete in the final for a place on the podium.
Tank biathlon is part of the Army Games 2017 running in five countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, China and Azerbaijan from 29 July to 12 August. The program includes 28 events.
