Ole Einar Bjorndalen in Raubichi: pre-season training and a clinic for young biathletes

The famous biathlete and many-time world and Olympic champion, husband of Darya Domracheva, is getting ready for the new season at the Raubichi Sports Center. The Norwegian athlete agreed to make a break in his training to hold a clinic for the Belarusian junior biathletes, who are to take part in the Legends’ Race festival this year, and talk to the press.

On Raubichi Sports Center

The sports center is fantastic. I especially like the track which runs through the forests and a shooting range, a real challenge. Winds are tricky here. There is a possibility to practice shooting both outside and indoors. I was greatly impressed when I came here a few years ago. I have come to Raubichi several times more since then. There are few centers of the kind in the world, especially for summer biathlon. I plan to spend some time here, in Minsk, ahead of the start of the season…

On Legends’ Race

A lot of outstanding retired biathletes will come to Raubichi. I am still an active athlete and I believe it will be unfair from my end to compete in the event…

On Darya Domracheva’s return to sport

Darya has personal coaches on the national team and I think that my help will be unnecessary. When is she going to start training? When she will be ready for it. She knows very well what she needs to do and when, and will be back in action as soon as she has this possibility.
