MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to scientists, workers of research institutes and institutions of higher learning as they celebrate Belarusian Science Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“We highly appreciate the contribution of scientists to the strengthening of the Belarusian manufacturing industry, improvement of the social sector, enrichment of the intellectual and cultural potential of the nation,” the head of state remarked. “Our country has created conditions for the implementation of creative initiatives, pays special attention to the development of scientific schools, engagement of young people. Bright ideas, breakthrough research, and progressive projects are needed to solve the tasks of paramount importance for the state.”
Alexander Lukashenko said that this year was announced the Year of Science for a reason. “This is how we emphasize the importance of your work for the state and society,” the President underlined. He expressed confidence that it will give a strong creative impetus, inspire for new discoveries which will ensure sustainable economic growth, social stability, and people’s wellbeing.
