MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) – Leader of the Belarusian national sailing team (Laser Radial Olympic class) Tatiana Drozdovskaya won gold at the Olympic Classes Sailing Championships 2015 in Aarhus, Denmark, BelTA learnt from spokeswoman of the Belarusian Sailing Federation Polina Golovina.
The Belarusian had six qualifying and six final successful races to collect 66 points and claim the victory. Silver went to Alicia Cebrian Martinez de Lagos of Spain (60 points). Bronze was collected by Tuula Tenkanen from Finland (54 points).
Competing at the Olympic Classes Sailing Championships 2015 (Laser Radial) were 43 participants from more than 20 countries. Tatiana Drozdovskaya is Belarus’ leading yachtswoman in the Laser Radial class. She is a world champion, World Cup winner and a finalist of the World and European championships. In 2000 she was awarded the status of the international master of sports. On 8 April 2013 she topped the ISAF Laser Radial world ranking for the first time in Belarus’ history.
Tatiana Drozdovskaya took part in four Olympic Games (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012). The Belarusian has already earned a spot for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
