MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped more than 3 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 9 August, Belarus’ grain harvest reached 3.175 million tonnes. Brest Oblast harvested 880,600 tonnes, Minsk Oblast – 681,700 tonnes. Gomel Oblast and Grodno Oblast cropped 572,400 and 539,300 tonnes each. The harvest of Mogilev Oblast reached 341,800 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – 159,300 tonnes.
A total of 891.000 hectares, or 41%, of areas under crops have been harvested in the country. As of today, Brest Oblast remains the leader: the region has cropped 71.1% of the total area.
This year, the average yield makes up 35.6 centners per hectare.
