People’s Artist of Russia Valery Leontiev unveils a cornflower with his name on the Walk of Fame in Vitebsk
The Walk of Fame to celebrate the winners of the special presidential award Through Art To Peace and Understanding was inaugurated in Vitebsk on 10 July 2009. The prestigious award was set up in 2005. Andrei Petrov, Alla Pugacheva, Sofia Rotaru, and Aleksandra Pakhmutova were the first winners of the prize. To mark the 5th anniversary of the award, the Walk of Fame was opened near the Summer Amphitheater. It displays the names of the award winners engraved together with the symbol of the festival – a cornflower representing a music note and a microphone at the same time. A new star is unveiled on the Walk of Fame during every Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk. People’s Artist of Russia Valery Leontiev was the fifth winner of the prize. He received it during the opening ceremony of the Walk of Fame in 2009.
