Maslenitsa Feast in Minsk

Maslenitsa Feast in Minsk
15 Mar 2016

Fests were organized in all districts of Minsk. The main celebrations unfolded in the heart of the capital city, near the famous historical districts of Minsk – the Upper Town and Trinity Suburb.

Visitors to the Maslenitsa fair could treat themselves to pancakes, the main symbol of the holiday. There were more than 50 kinds of pancakes: wheat with different fillings, buckwheat, rye, potato, beet…

A culinary contest was the main highlight of the event. It featured 11 chefs who competed to bake the most delicious, figured and unusual pancakes.

The program also included folk dance performances, accordion and harmonica songs, games and competitions, with pancakes as a reward.
