Visit of Nicaragua’s MPs to Belarus expected to give impetus to bilateral contacts

Visit of Nicaragua’s MPs to Belarus expected to give impetus to bilateral contacts

MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – The visit of the parliamentary delegation of Nicaragua to Belarus will give momentum to cooperation between Belarus and Nicaragua, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova said as she met with First Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Nicaragua Arling Patricia Alonso Gómez, BelTA reports.

“Economy is crucial for the development of any country. During your visit to Belarus, you will tour local companies. You will see how our country lives, what kind of enterprises we have, what products we make. I am sure that your visit will give an impetus to the development of good relations between our countries,” said Natalya Kochanova. “Cooperation between public associations is also very important for us. We hope to establish contacts with youth and women’s organizations of Nicaragua,” she continued.

Belarus is ready to cooperate with Nicaragua in absolutely all areas, the speaker assured. “We are interested in intensifying our cooperation in public health, education, culture. I believe that such visits and exchanges of delegations should be regular as this will enable our peoples to get to know each other better,” Natalya Kochanova noted. “One of pillars of our national security is, of course, the pharmaceutical industry. I think that we can find common ground here,” she said.

“I hope that you will like our country and you will take away good memories of our wonderful people. I have no doubt about it,” added Natalya Kochanova.

The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Nicaragua led by First Vice-President of the National Assembly of Nicaragua Arling Patricia Alonso Gómez is on a visit to Belarus on 3-4 October. This is the first such visit as part of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Belarus and Nicaragua. Its goal is to thrash out plans to promote interparliamentary contacts.
