MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus counts on intensive work within the framework of BRICS, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Aleinik told the ONT TV channel commenting on the outcomes of the 15th BRICS Summit in the Republic of South Africa, BelTA informs.

“Belarus counts on the prompt consideration of our application that was filed officially in May. During our communication with BRICS member states and partner countries, we received very clear assurances that our application will be given priority consideration,” Sergei Aleinik said.

“Of course, we are counting on intensive work within BRICS. We have something to bring to the table. First of all, we can contribute to sustainable economic development, creation of more fair alternatives to payment systems. This topic featured large during the summit. This work will be ongoing within the framework of the organization, and will be facilitated by BRICS’s New Development Bank that we also want to join in the near future,” the minister said.
