MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) - China and Belarus are jointly implementing many initiatives aimed at promoting peace, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong said at the conference of young scholars "Community of common destiny for mankind: Civilizational prospects and national interests" in the House of Friendship in Minsk on 26 September, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat thanked the organizers of the event, which is dedicated to the Day of Founding of the People's Republic of China, and professors and students of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of President of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian State Economic University, Belarusian State University, the Belarusian National Technical University and the National Academy of Sciences for their active participation in the competitions preceding the conference.

"I listened carefully to all participants and would like to share my personal thoughts and impressions. It is clear that all participants have a fuller understanding of the context of the era when the concept of building a community of common destiny for mankind was put forward. In the 21st century, the multipolarity, economic globalization, social informatization and cultural diversification have grown deeper. There has been an accelerated rise of emerging market countries and a large number of developing countries. The world is increasingly becoming a global village," the diplomat stressed.

"At the same time, the instability and uncertainty facing the world are obvious, global challenges and problems are growing every day. Unilateralism, protectionism and hegemony pose a threat to world peace and development, and the deficit of governance, trust, development and peace is growing all the time," Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong continued. “The Western-centric theory, according to which the West plays a leading role in international architectonics, and the concept of international relations mainly focused on Western values have become unstable. It is becoming increasingly difficult for Western concepts, systems and models of governance to adapt to the new international order and trends, which leads to the accumulation of various vices and intractable problems. Even the Western powers themselves have administrative failures and accumulated many problems.

According to the diplomat, in the face of common problems, no person, no country can cope alone.” The international community needs a new concept of global governance, a new, fairer and more reasonable international system and order, and better prospects for human development," Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong said.

It is in this context that Chinese President Xi Jinping, based on the process of historical development of mankind, conducted an in-depth analysis of the most important issues "what kind of world to build and how to build such a world", put forward an important theory about building the community of common destiny for mankind.
