VITEBSK, 18 July (BelTA) - Vlad Sytnik from Ukraine became the first prize winner of the 26th International Song Contest Vitebsk 2017. The winners were announced during the gala closing concert of the Slavianski Bazaar 2017 festival in Vitebsk on 17 July, BelTA has learned.
The Grand Prix was not awarded this year as the jury opinion was split. Vlad Sytnik was awarded the first prize, a diploma and special prize Lyre and $15,000 in prize money. Belarusian Yegor Sharankov, who scored equal points with the Ukrainian, was awarded the second prize ($10,000). Yegor Sharankov and Russia's Liliya Veltman, who was among the top four favorites of the contest, were awarded the special prize of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State.
Nevena Bozovic from Serbia got the third prize ($5,000), special prize Lyre and a diploma of the third prize winner.
Special prize of the Belarusian President “Slavic Hope” went to Nina Kraljic from Croatia. The award was presented by Vasily Zharko, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Organizing Committee of the Festival.
