Molodechno hosts National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) - The 13th National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry opens in Molodechno on 7 June, BelTA learned.

This year saw some changes to the rules of the song contest of young performers Molodechno 2013. The draw was held according to the Eurovision rules. The organizers themselves determined the order of performances at the contest. The song contest will be held in two venues: the Palace of Culture and the Amphitheatre.

The event will open with a gala concert of the National Academic Concert Orchestra "Twenty Years Together with Molodechno!". The award ceremony of young singers will take place the same evening.

All in all, the Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry in Molodechno will feature about 20 cultural events. Taking part in the festival will be the State Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Belarus, and Belarus’ representative at the International Song Contest Vitebsk at the 22nd International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk Alexander Solovyov.

The final gala concert "Be Happy, my Belarus!" is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Minsk Oblast. The program will be headlined by the Symphony Orchestra of the Oginsky Music College of Molodechno. The 13th National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry Molodechno 2013 will conclude with fireworks.

The organizers are the Culture Ministry, Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, Molodechno District Executive Committee, and the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus.
