VITEBSK, 14 July (BelTA) – The 26th edition of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk officially opened on 13 July. The second day of the festival will celebrate the Belarus-Russia Union State, BelTA has learned.
The events will be traditionally attended by State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota. The official will lay flowers at the memorial to soldiers-liberators, partisans and members of the underground movement and visit Ilya Repin’s country estate Zdravnevo to take part in the roundtable event on the art and literature legacy for future generations. In the evening, the Summer Amphitheater will invite the guests of the festival to enjoy the best songs of the Belarusian band Syabry as part of the show Union State Invites that will celebrate the anniversary of the band.
The second festival day will decide the 15 finalists of the 26th International Song Contest Vitebsk 2017. Twenty-one semi-finalists will perform songs in their mother tongue written by composers from their own countries at Vitebsk Concert Hall.
The project Theater Meetings will continue with another comedy, production Nobody Promised an Easy Life by Minsk-based Theater-Studio of Movie Actors.
The second festival day will wrap up with the night show Golden Hit that will feature Belarusian and foreign singers.
Events of the 26th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar will run through 19 July.
