MINSK, 15 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian Guard of Honor of the Defense Ministry carried the national flag at Champs-Elysees as the Belarusian delegation took part in the celebration of the National Day of France, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.

The event took place in Paris on 14 July. It was held under the aegis of the 100th anniversary of World War I. Partaking in the celebration were President of France Francois Hollande, members of the French government, the National Assembly of France. The delegations of countries which took part in World War I, including Belarus, also attended the celebrations in Paris.

This year the traditional parade was opened by a procession of military delegations, including the Belarusian one. The parade was crowned by a theater performance which symbolized peace featuring youth delegations from 68 countries, including the representatives of the Belarusian State University and MITSO. The program of the celebrations also included a classical music concert at Champ de Mars and fireworks near the Eiffel Tower.
