The anniversary international festival Belaya Vezha (White Tower) which has become a trademark of Belarus’ Brest brought together Grand Prix winners of different years in the 2015 Capital of Culture. Organizes received applications for the participation in the forum from about 100 theaters from all over the world and selected 13 art groups from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Tunisia, and Tajikistan. Residents and guests of the city upon Bug watched 25 productions based on the Belarusian and world classics, including drama, street, puppet, music and physical theater performances. The forum’s program included national premiers. At the anniversary festival artists of the Brest Academic Drama Theater presented a joint project with Polish director Pawel Passini – the production Dzyady based on Adam Mickiewicz’s poem of the same name. The forum included discussions, creative meetings, master classes with renowned directors and theater critics from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
