The universal exhibition Expo Milano 2015 is running under the slogan "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" from 1 May through 31 October 2015. The 1.1 million square meters of exhibition space feature pavilions of more than 140 countries, large companies and non-governmental organizations. Belarus’ pavilion demonstrates the nation’s main treasures – bread, salt, and water. It is one of the most visited and impressive pavilions at the expo. Its design is unique. The wheel of a water mill dominates the entire exposition. A road leading to the wheel symbolizes a river. The visitors get swept into a whirlpool of events as soon as they enter the national pavilion of Belarus.
The National Day of Belarus at Expo Milano 2015 was held on 9 September. It was themed around the traditional harvest festival Dozhynki. The event impressed all the guests of the expo from Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. The program of the National Day featured performances by the best Belarusian performing groups, including the folk dance company Khoroshki who sang folk songs and danced Lyavonikha. The guests were treated to Belarusian-made food products and dishes of the national cuisine. They were also invited to buy souvenirs and take photos with the Wheel of Life symbolizing destiny and the continuous movement of the nature and with a tractor Belarus.
