Naviband win Belarus’ national selection for Eurovision 2017

The first music intrigue of the year was resolved on the night of 20 January: who will represent Belarus at Eurovision 2017 in Kiev? The indie pop duo Naviband of Artyom Lukyanenko and Ksenia Zhuk won the national selection for the popular international contest with a Belarusian-language song Story of My Life.

The national selection event was broadcast live on Belarus 1 and Belarus 24. The show saw 13 contestants, solo performers and bands. For the first time in the history of Belarus’ participation in Eurovision, the national final featured a Green Room where the finalists relaxed while waiting to go on stage and answered questions from the Green Room host. The winner was decided by combining the jury votes and the televoting points using the 50x50 formula.
