24th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad: red carpet, famous guests, opening ceremony

Minsk upholds its tradition of bringing together the world’s cinema industry representative during the cosy autumn days. This year the International Film Festival Listapad has chosen the motto Truth, Love and Beauty. It is these criteria the jury said it will use to assess the participating movies.

Famous director, scriptwriter and actor, Oscar winner Vladimir Menshov smashed a symbolic china plate against the light stand to herald the start of the 24th edition of the International Film Festival Listapad in Minsk. This year, People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Menshov was awarded the Belarus president’s special prize for preserving and developing spirituality traditions in cinema art Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko read out a message of greetings from the Belarusian head of state to guests of the festival.

The competition program of the 24th installment of the Minsk Lіstapad was opened by Boris Khlebnikov’s movie Arrhythmia, one of the most remarkable pictures of the year, the Grand Prix winner of the Russian Film Festival Kinotavr.
