22nd Minsk International Book Fair

Over 380 exhibits from 28 countries, a record-large venue with the area of 1,500 square meters, the first International Symposium of Writers in the history of the forum, and the dedication to the two most significant events of the year are only the first figures and achievements of the 22nd Minsk International Book Fair which opened at the BelExpo national exhibition center on 11 February.

China is the Guest of Honor of the Minsk Book Fair this year. China displays about 5,000 publications at its stand with the total area of about 400 square meters. The stand of Russia which has the title of the central exhibitor displays over 2,000 publications. Big expositions are showcased by Germany, France, Iran, the United Kingdom…

The national exposition of Belarus united several thematic zones, including My Belarus, encyclopedias, study guides, books for children, and fiction. This year’s forum showcases a number of unique novelty books such as the album Slutsk Belts and European Textile of the 18th Century. Small Lexicon, The Big Encyclopedia of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus presented by the leading opera stars, the project Belarus Through the Eyes of the Chinese, a volume of the series Famous People of Belarus dedicated to legendary Alexander Medved…

The main topics of the 22nd Minsk International Book Fair are the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Year of Youth in Belarus.

Partaking in the opening ceremony of the forum were Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Buzovsky, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Writers Nikolai Cherginets, Belarusian Information Minister Lilia Ananich, and Deputy Director (copyright) of the Chinese State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television Yan Xiaohong.
