SAINT PETERSBURG, 3 April (BelTA) – The Presidents of Russia and Belarus settled all the issues in the oil and gas sector, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after his meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 3 April, BelTA has learned.
“We have agreed to regulate all the disputable points in the oil and gas sector. We have not just agreed, but have already regulated them. We have agreed how and when we will do it. We will do it within the next 10 days,” the Russian leader said.
“We have found a scheme to preserve our approaches. We are moving closer our positions on prices. We have found the way to meet each other halfway. We have agreed on the working mode in the sector not only in 2017, but also in 2018 and 2019,” said Vladimir Putin.
In his words, the two heads of state reaffirmed their readiness to create necessary fundamental rules and conditions for the common market of electricity by July 2019. The parties also confirmed readiness to do everything necessary to develop joint rules on the common gas market by 1 January 2018 and prepare to sign an intergovernmental agreement on the common gas market by 2024.
