Molodechno takes over Belarus’ Capital of Culture statusMOLODECHNO, 5 February (BelTA) – Molodechno took over the status of the Belarusian Capital of Culture from Brest in a solemn ceremony on 5 February, BelTA has learned.

Culture Minister of Belarus Boris Svetlov congratulated the guests of the ceremony and residents of the city on the event and noted that the competition among the Belarusian cities for the status was tough. It proves that the country is rich in cultural values and many settlements have the right to compete for this honorary title.

Molodechno takes over Belarus’ Capital of Culture statusThe status is of special importance for Molodechno as the city was named the Capital of Culture in the Year of Culture. The city has added to its history another page it can be proud of, Boris Svetlov said.

First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Andrei Belyakov expressed confidence that all the events planned for the implementation in the Year of Culture would be the confession of love to the Motherland.
