MINGECEVIR, 15 June (BelTA) – Canoe Sprint brothers Andrei and Alexander Bogdanovich won the first gold medal for Belarus at the European Games in Baku. The Belarusians claimed the C2 1000m gold in 3:34.412 minutes, BelTA informs.
Second came in Russia’s Ilya Pervukhin and Alexei Korovashkov (3:34.453). Bronze went to Germany’s Peter Kretschmer and Michael Mueller (3:34.982).
The Belarusian crew of Vitaly Belko and Roman Petrushenko won the K2 1000m bronze. The Belarusians finished in 3:13.584. In the first K1 1000m final Belarusian Oleg Yurenya came in fifth, clocking 3:30.851. Belarus’ Maxim Petrov was fifth in the C1 1000m event (3:55.513).
