MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) - Tatiana Drozdovskaya of Belarus topped the ISAF Laser Radial rankings for the first time in the history of the national yachting sport. The Belarusian holds 878 points in the rating list published by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).
ISAF rating lists are updated monthly. In March Tatiana Drozdovskaya was second with 860 points. The Belarusian climbed to the top after winning the Europe Cup event in Malcesine, Lake Garda, Italy, and placing sixth at the World Cup event in Palma Spain.
In the ISAF Laser Radial rankings Tatiana Drozdovskaya is followed by Krystal Weir of Austria (742 points) and World Cup winner (in Palma) Alison Young of the UK (737 points). The rating comprises 444 athletes.
Tatiana Drozdovskaya is Belarus’ Laser Radial leading yachtswoman. She is a many-time world champion, World Cup winner, finalists of the World and European championships. In 2000 she was awarded the status of the international master of sports. In 2007 she secured the world champion title. Tatiana Drozdovskaya represented Belarus in four Olympics in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012. She was 23rd at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 15th at the 2012 London Games.
