MOGILEV, 28 March (BelTA) – A Life for the Tsar by Russia’s Teatro Di Capua has been named the best production at the 11th international youth theater forum M@rt.contact, theater critic Andrei Moskvin (Warsaw, Poland) told BelTA on 27 March.
A group of young critics under Andrei Moskvin’s guidance chose winners in several categories. The group also comprised young theater directors.
The youth decided to give the title of the best young director to Igor Kazakov from the Mogilev Oblast Puppet Theater for the production The Lower Depths. Maxim Studenovsky from the Masterskaya Saint Petersburg Theater received the title of the best young actor, Irina Tkachenko from Kiev’s Zolotye Vorota Theater was named the best actress, and Tatyana Nersisyan from Mogilev Oblast Puppet Theater was recognized as the best set designer. Nikita Zolotar from the Belarusian State Puppet Theater was honored as the best theater composer, and actors of the Vedogon Theater of Moscow received a prize for the production Vassa.
The audience choice award went to the Sfera Drama Theater of Moscow.
Since 2015, the international theater forum M@rt.contact has had no professional jury. All the theaters get participation diplomas and a theater mask which is the symbol of the forum.
The program of this year’s edition of the festival featured 20 productions by theater troupes from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Bulgaria, Armenia, Moldova, and Lithuania.
The international forum M@rt.contact was founded in 2006. Over the past ten years, it has become an important event in the theatrical life of the country. More than 140 productions have been presented to the total audience of 50,000 since 2006. The founders of M@rt.contact are the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, the main department for ideology, culture, and youth affairs of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, and the Mogilev Oblast Drama Theater.
