MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus registered incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko as candidate for the post of the President of Belarus on 10 September, BelTA informs.
The certificate of a presidential candidate was handed to Mikhail Orda, the head of Alexander Lukashenko’s initiative group. He had a notarized power of attorney to represent the interests of Alexander Lukashenko.
Speaking at the CEC meeting, Mikhail Orda noted that during the collection of voter signatures the initiative group saw the people’s genuine interest in the election process. He also stressed that the society had showed unprecedented support for the incumbent President of Belarus.
The Central Election Commission also registered Alexander Lukashenko’s 30 proxies and one financial representative.
