MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich met with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov in Minsk on 25 October, BelTA has learned.
Imangali Tasmagambetov arrived in Minsk to participate in the high-level international conference “Eurasian security: Reality and prospects in a transforming world”, which is due in Minsk on 26-27 October.
Aleksandr Volfovich and Imangali Tasmagambetov discussed topical items on the international agenda. Belarus’ presidency over the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2023 and progress in accomplishing Belarus’ presidency’s priorities were discussed. Preliminary results of previously made decisions of the committee of secretaries of security councils of the CSTO states were summarized.
Aleksandr Volfovich drew attention to the situation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization area. He said it is necessary to look for effective ways of resolving problems at the external contour of the organization.
Imangali Tasmagambetov told Aleksandr Volfovich about the CSTO Secretariat’s work to prepare regular sessions of the organization’s charter bodies, which are due in Minsk in November 2023.
